Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf Steiner education, envisioned Waldorf Steiner schools to be self-governing, with all its faculty members taking an active part. At Acacia Waldorf School, this is realized through the collective work of a College of Teachers, together with faculty, faculty committees, and administration team. This endeavor finds a balance between the ideals and goals of Waldorf Steiner education, our culture, contemporary developments in education, the curriculum, and the professional development of faculty and staff.

The College of Teachers oversees the school’s day-to-day functions and pedagogy, and this includes faculty and child care, festivals, and community activities, and the general culture that enlivens the school.  The College is composed of experienced teaching and non-teaching faculty, as well as the school administrator.  Faculty representatives from different departments join the College and discuss questions and concerns of their department.
