BELINDA GRACE MANLAPAZ
Class 12 Rosal
Upper School Coordinator
Math Teacher
“Because my teacher believed I could, and so I did.”
This was Binky’s motivation to shift careers after working in the engineering consultancy industry. She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas, and became a Licensed Engineer in 2000. With courage, enthusiasm and love for math, she applied to teach at the Manila Waldorf School in 2005. After a year in the Upper School as a Math Teacher, she became a Middle School Main Teacher and carried Classes 5 to 8. It was also at this time that she went back to school as a student to complete her teaching units that would enable her to take the Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET).
She rejoined the Waldorf Steiner community in 2014, after living abroad for four years, —this time at the Acacia Waldorf School. She taught Math tracks and blocks in the Upper School. She graduated her first class as a Sponsor Teacher for Hasmin Class after four years in 2019. Now on her seventh year in AWS, she has embarked on yet another cycle as Class Sponsor to Rosal students.
She has attended Waldorf Steiner Conferences and teacher trainings locally and abroad, such as Asian Waldorf Teacher Conferences (AWTC), Asian Teacher Training (ATT), Rudolf Steiner Education in the Philippines (RStEP) training, Gamot Cogon (GCI) Teacher Training and the World Teacher’s Conference (WTC) in Goetheanum. She continues to inspire the many students she teaches, and is equally inspired by them and her profession as a Waldorf Steiner teacher.
