Laura was a housewife with two growing teenagers when she got involved in  Waldorf Steiner education, upon the invitation of Brenda and Mary Joan Fajardo, who were both her colleagues in PETA.  In 1999-2001, Laura undertook a three-year Waldorf Steiner Teacher Training in Early Childhood Education organized by Rudolf Steiner Education in the Philippines (RStEP) with Bella Tan and foreign mentors Renate Breihpol from Australia, and Marjorie Theyer from New Zealand, through the auspices of the International Association of Waldorf Kindergartens.

Laura was a full time Waldorf Steiner Kindergarten Teacher at Manila Waldorf School for six years from 1994 to 2003 before she was invited to be a pioneer Kindergarten teacher at Acacia Waldorf School in 2004.  She was already employed by AWS when she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the Philippine Christian University.  She earned her Licensure for Teachers the following year.  At AWS, she taught Kindergarten for 6 years and Grade School for 8 years.  She is currently a Filipino Language Teacher and a member of the College of Teachers.

Laura was born in Binondo, Manila and is a member of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA).  Her first major production of “Kabesang Tales” directed by Felix Padilla, Jr., was in PETA’s 1975 Kalingan Ensemble, and was also performed at Raha Sulayman Theater at Fort Santiago, with outreach performances in Laguna.  She was Moderator at the Children’s Theater Summer Workshop at PETA’s Central Institute for Theater Arts in Southeast Asia.
